My Mission Statement

For I know the plans I have for you, declares the LORD, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope. Jer 29:11
Mission gives us direction in our life journey to reach the destiny God has for us, our compass to guide us through life. We all must ask the question, What is my life mission, life purpose statement, my reason to be, my unique purpose in life?
There are two parts to our mission statement, our biblical propose statement and our life purpose / mission statement.
My Biblical Purpose Statement is:
To live sent on Missio Dei, to be a disciple of Christ being spiritually transformed in Christ through the gospel in order to transformed the world, devoted to radical worship and the Word, intentional about impacting my spheres of influence with the Gospel, showing compassion to the poor and oppressed, making disciples, incarnating the Gospel to the world.
Of course besides my personal biblical purpose statement above, there is the universal purpose statement that every true Christian, follower of Christ has that it at the heart of my biblical purpose statement....
To Seek to glorify and enjoy God by knowing and serving Jesus Christ by fulfilling the great commission, by living in right relationship with myself, my family, and those near me, and by using God's gifts to me for nurturing others. My Mission Statement is:
A work in progress....................... God is in the process of re-tooling me, re-creating me, who I am and
re-writing
it.
The tag line for my life is "My life hid in Christ, His Mission".
My life motto is "Practice Christ".
Defining my biblical purpose statement:
- Live Sent on Mission Dei....since all believers are called to live sent, live on God's mission, by Joining God's mission every who, what and where, every
decision
I make in life is seen through and effected by God mission
of Restoration, Renewal, Reconciliation and Redemption to the world
.
- Knowing and serving Jesus Christ . . . since my identity is informed and shaped by Gospel and the knowledge of the God who created me, I want to foster my relationship with Jesus by regular attention to worship, prayer, Scripture study, community, and spiritual direction.
- Living in right relationship . . . since God made me for community, I want to honor the relationships in which God has placed me, beginning with my wife and my children, then close friends and colleagues, seeking in each to understand the other, offering encouragement and support, loyalty and love.
- By incarnating the gosple....by sharing, displaying in my life God in real time, a God who is alive and active in a day to day personal relationship with me, not by sharing God as a concept, i.e. the for spiritual laws, type formulas. Living a life transformed by the gospel and the living active relationship with Jesus.
- Using God's gifts in my life . . . since God has gifted me by His Spirit with certain gifts, I want to be effective and faithful in using these gifts to serve the body of Christ both locally and globally, and use them so that that I may be a vital witness of God's love and grace, and to serve others.
I will accomplish my mission by....
Patterning my life after God's missionary purpose in the world by adopting missionary thinking to strategically engage the culture with the gospel where I work where I play and where I live.
In my calling is to serve the Body of Christ I will fulfill my mission by.....
